Adidas is coming out strong in 2010 with the adidas Equation. This will be a new line for Adidas and is the first of its kind. Aside from the awesome contour and detail of each shoe, you will have the grip of a high cut and the style of a low cut in one shoe! At the rear, there are three buttons that will allow you to remove a certain part of the rear. You can play high then strut low. Now that is amazing. What’s more amazing is that three of top NBA stars will endorse these babies. You can check out Kevin Garnett, Derrick Rose and Dwight Howard in the adidas commercial “Lesson in Style”.

PARIS — Marc Jacobs and the Louis Vuitton men’s studio director Paul Helbers have some design competition this season. Kanye West, who was sitting front row at the Vuitton show, has designed a line of five LV sneakers. Only one design, above, was featured in the show — a monochromatic midtop with no frills, save for a quilted flap in the back, all the easier to tuck pants into. “The inspiration came from a jacket with a huge collar in the movie ‘Dune,’ ” West says. “Most sneakers focus on the tongue, so I wanted to do something different.” West knows whereof he speaks: he says he has no idea how many shoes he owns, but he does know that he routinely needs to send shipments off to storage. The LV-meets-Kanye kicks will be available at Louis Vuitton stores in June.

A few years back, sneaker customizing was quite a huge phenomenon where many sneakerheads even myself attempted to paint a sneaker to a color of my own liking. Of course I failed miserably but several artists including Mark Ong aka. SBTG had great success and has even made a career out of customizing sneakers. Since the year 2007, the “hype” on custom sneakers slowly died down as Hypebeasters began moving away from the crazy colored sneakers to more subtle and wearable sneakers. However, this hasn’t stopped Mark to continuously come up with creative and new ideas for his customs season after season. Here’s a look at his latest customs titled the “Skeleton Comrade” collection based on the Dunk model from Nike. This time, Mark decided to take a more classic approach in this design with the use of selvedge denim alongside hand painted graphics. These which come in black and blue will be limited to 12 pairs each and will retail for $600. Look for these to drop at the Royalfam store very soon.

Sneaker customizer SBTG (Mark Ong)/ royalefam officially countdown to of its newest collection, titled Dead Generals. What could be the more extensive
A total of 24 pairs were available, 8 pairs per Jackal & Hyde Dunk High plus 12 pairs of Jackal & Hyde Dunk Low.
By far the most ambitious undertaking of SBTG to date, the Jackal (red) & Hyde (yellow) Dunks are a complete revision of the idea behind sneaker customization. Instead just add on graphics with ink and paint, SBTG took apart each pair and meticulously reconstructed them from the ground up. Adorned first with a layer of painted graphics resembling that of old war propaganda posters, then on top, a layer of authentic selvedge denim works, camouflage elements from vintage BDUs, military grade zipper stripes & rivets. Wearers are encourage to take the sneakers through its pace. From the wear and tear, the design on these Dunks will progress through a transformation, revealing the labyrinth of creative elements beneath, much like the central character of the Dunks’ namesake novel.

Given a chance to design his own pair of sneakers alongside China’s Fly, Triumvir founder Brandon Cheng chose a theme close to his Chinese roots. Using the Dunk Mid platform, both entities took inspiration from iconic Beijing landmarks including dust, noodles, traffic, highways and Tiananmen Square to create a silhouette from a visitor’s perspective. After his humble beginnings in sneaker customs, its refreshing to see Brandon’s expertise expanding throughout the industry especially within his Triumvir clothing brand. One of the better releases of 2009, the “Beijing” dunks have finally released at select Nike SB retailers including Kix-Files.

Adding to their massive roster for 2008, the Jordan camp introduces two new colorways for their timeless Jordan 1 silhouette. Mixing it up from the more toned down releases, one of the models gets a full red upper alongside contrasting laces and army green accenting, sharing similarities to modern gucci motifs. The second pair combines a black and khaki colorway with the signature laser etching technique along the front and toe panels. Both offer a unique and distinct look gravitating the brand into a territory of fashion geared pieces rather than its roots in basketball performance sneakers. They have hit select Asia accounts including Shoe Planet Japan, with a US release rumored to be in November of this year. Via Hypebeast
