The Alesis StudioDock is the first device that allows anyone with an iPad to create, produce, and perform music with nearly any pro audio gear or instruments. The StudioDock is a universal docking station that is specially designed for the iPad, which gives musicians, recording engineers, and music producers the connectivity they need to create and perform while using the iPad.

The Alesis StudioDock Pro will be available in May 2011 for $199. Whatever you create while using it is limited only by your creativity and imagination.

iPad hooks up with Akai’s new SynthStation49 keyboard

The SynthStation49 keyboard controller by Akai is using Apple’s iPad in a creative way, by installing a built-in iPad dock. It will work with Akai’s SynthStation software offering direct in-app MIDI recording, as well as the iOS CoreMIDI allowing it to be used with a wide variety of other iOS music apps.

The new keyboard features 49 full-size velocity-sensitive keys, nine MPC-style drum pads and a variety of controls. There’s an adjustable-angle charging iPad dock, a USB port for connecting to a Mac or PC and professional 0.25-inch outputs. You also use the SynthStation49 as a traditional USB MIDI controller with your computer.

The clip follows Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo and Thomas Bangalter partaking in an intensely spaced-out video game duel turned digitally real. The movie the film will be presented in IMAX 3D and Disney Digital 3D and arrives next Friday, December 17th, at theaters. In the meantime, enjoy above.

Radiohead for Haiti
We’re doing a show this Sunday (24th January) to raise funds for the relief effort in Haiti. The venue is The Music Box Theatre at The Fonda in Los Angeles, doors at 7pm. All proceeds are going to the Oxfam Haiti relief fund. We’re trying to raise as much money as possible, so tickets will be sold by auction at this site from 8pm tonight until 11am Saturday (PST):
