Although best known for making high-quality bluetooth headsets and wireless speakers, Jawbone clearly has bigger plans in store for its brand. Teasing a new product mysteriously dubbed “UP,” the company seems to be moving towards the direction of integrating its technology with consumer’s lifestyles. UP, a small bracelet-looking item, apparently will be capable of tracking users’ eating habits, sleep patterns, movements and more. Clearly aimed at the health-conscious market, there’s no confirmed release date for this new Jawbone product, but it will most definitely be available soon and come with an accompanying smart phone app.

Japan’s FACTUS DESIGN has taken upon itself to further the capabilities of the iPhone 4. While protection to iPhones comes thanks to aircraft-grade aluminum materials, the case’s industrious design is further accentuated by a range of interchangeable lenses such as fisheyes, wide-angles and telephoto lenses. The SynthStation49 keyboard controller by Akai is using Apple’s iPad in a creative way, by installing a built-in iPad dock. It will work with Akai’s SynthStation software offering direct in-app MIDI recording, as well as the iOS CoreMIDI allowing it to be used with a wide variety of other iOS music apps.

The new keyboard features 49 full-size velocity-sensitive keys, nine MPC-style drum pads and a variety of controls. There’s an adjustable-angle charging iPad dock, a USB port for connecting to a Mac or PC and professional 0.25-inch outputs. You also use the SynthStation49 as a traditional USB MIDI controller with your computer.

To finish off a busy 2010 year for German camera company Leica, another limited edition version of the M9 surfaces. On a similar note to a release seen in the first half of 2010, the camera features a brown synthetic ostrich leather wrapping complete with a matching strap. The camera will be limited to 50 pieces with a suggested retail price of $12,950 USD.

Only a few month into the venture, WhiteiPhone4Now already garnered the attention of CNN, TechCrunch, CNET, Fast Company, and the likes. The business also made a handsome amount for Lam, around $130,000 thus far. Of course, Lam’s endeavor put him squarely on the cross-hair of Apple’s legal department though it has not taken any action against the young entrepreneur yet.
